Signature
Verify a document
Prove that a signed PDF is byte-for-byte the document that was presented for signature. This is the command everything else in the product rests on.
What a match proves, and what it does not
A match proves integrity: the file you dropped in is bit-for-bit the file that was hashed when the envelope was created, and therefore the file the signer was shown. It proves nothing about identity — there is no cryptographic certificate here proving who held the signing link, and possession of a mailbox is the attribution. That is the same gap DocuSign’s standard tier has, and it is written here rather than left for somebody to discover in a dispute.
